February 19, 2019
Aloha all! It is 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 20th in Korea and 4:00 pm in Kona on Tuesday, the 19thJ. We landed around 6:30 pm and taxied to the hotel which is also a very large residence building. Our room is like a studio with lots of shelves, nice bathroom, 2 burner stove, microwave, washing machine and tv (which has not be turned on J). We got to the hotel and went to sleep around 10:30pm. Yes, it was a long day yesterday but being able walk around at the Japan airport and then getting here and settled in so that we are not tired is great. We have about a 6 hour flight to Cambodia today, where it is 2 hours earlier than here, but that seems relatively short with all of the flying I have done with the Africa trip so far this year. We had a nice breakfast (yes, PJ ate Kim Chee with his breakfast and said it was “smoking hot”! I was not so brave, LOL! We are going to go to the airport a bit early so we can walk around before our flight and will eat dinner there. There are also a bunch of shops so we can walk and browse. The airport is so clean here and in Japan you could eat off the floors! It is 36 degrees right now, overcast with snow on the ground so we chose not to go cruising around outside today! Yes, we are definitely Hawaii spoiled but after 38 years of our nice warm weather, it is difficult not to be. I enjoy reading your emails but will probably not be responding much during the trip unless there is downtime to do so. It seems we will have internet at the places we are staying except for the rural areas in Cambodia and India so keep me updated. Love you!
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. 1 John 4:11-12 ESV
Our prayers: 2 Corinthians 2:15-16 For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?
Each of the contributions the Lord required were for specific things with the Census Tax used “for the service of the tent of meeting”. This is like us having separate offerings for the operations of the ministry. This was a special time to take a census and God kept the plague off of the people for doing so because there are other times when He never wanted the leaders to count the people for the sake of them remaining humble. Remember what happened To King David? God must be honored when we stand before Him so I can’t imagine coming before Him all dirty in my heart. I must make sure I am cleansed through repentance and make sure I am not trying to meet with Him with sin in my life. This is why it is important to prepare my heart before I come to Him. God calls people out for His plans and purposes and ministers are not to be ordinary but anointed by God the way He wants it done. There are not self-appointed ministers. This is so important to the Lord that He cut off the people that were giving self-appointments. Independent hearts are never pleasing to the Lord for we are to depend on Him and His way of doing things. I have seen many independent hearts fall away from the Living God. Jason and I are no different than anyone else but He has anointed us to be in the pastoral office (priest) at Kona Faith Center. Just like we must submit to the authority of those anointed over us so we don’t lose that which God has chosen to give. I pray that those involved with oils don’t try to make mixtures of what God says not to do. This is why it is so important to be in the Word and KNOW it.
87 My God loves His city of Jerusalem. He has His own census of who is born there.
88 There are times that God separates us out to test us and see if we truly will trust that He is always with us whether we “recognize” it or not. The truth is that though we may “feel” alone we are never alone for our God NEVER leaves or forsakes us (Hebrews 13:5 +).
1 Corinthians 6
The elders of the church are to settle disputes so that brothers don’t rise up against brothers. Look how much the Lord was wronged yet He took it. Going to people “who lay them before those who have no standing in the church” is not pleasing to God. How can people without spiritual wisdom settle things righteously and justly? They can’t! These are the people who make all of those sinful laws! Thank You Lord that You have washed and cleansed me and made me righteous, sanctified and justified by Your blood, Your Name and Your Spirit!
Meditate & Apply: I am not to come to my God unprepared. I must have a right heart or I am not presenting myself acceptable to Him. No one is anything in and of themselves but who is to argue with God about whom He chooses to anoint for specific Office placement. Being in Asia I think about how God doesn’t use us to hold evangelistic meetings for thousands of people. He uses us to minister in places with few people, sometimes on dirt floors, or “buildings” made of dung with toilets being just a stinky hole in the ground. Yet it is such a joy to do this. But God has anointed us to be the pastors at Kona Faith Center and though there are many anointed leaders, their anointing is not to pastor the people God has placed with us. I am so grateful for Believing attorneys, bank officers, bookkeepers, accountants, etc. the Lord has put in place for Kona Faith Center!
May the lord continue to bless your trip. Amen, be prepared, I must spend more time before services on that. Amen to so many good leaders at church.
Sounds awesome so far!
What do you mean by the oil comment? What are we not supposed to make?
I like that- always coming prepared for the Lord! When I do, I can expect Him to show up!
May the blind see, the deaf hear and the lame walk again in spirit, soul and body after the preaching of the Word. Miss you.
Amen...awesome to hear from you...
