We were out of the door by 7 am, went for breakfast and ministered at three different places, first to children at a school, then to youth who are the leaders of the youth ministry and then some other adult leaders in the afternoon and drove for a very long time arriving around 1030 pm and again, needed to get ready for tomorrow as the 2 day seminar begins with pastors and church leaders. The traffic in Pnom Phen is horrible, just like the cities in the Philippines, India, and most 3rd world (the term now is developing countries). We are now in a much more rural area with rice paddies, livestock, gardens, etc. Many houses are on post and pier because if not, when the monsoons hit, there would be much flooding. Like most of the countries I have been in there are many shack looking houses and then you’ll see a really beautiful, large one. It is very hot and humid and most of the trees and foliage are very similar to Hawaii. They don’t use toilet paper here. They use a hose with a sprayer at the end. Sorry, I am too American I guess, and had to get some napkins (much thinner than ours)! The guys thought it funny. I am really pretty low maintenance on these trip but I did draw the line with the TPJ. The room we are in is simple but fine with air conditioning but there have been no hot water showers since we’ve been in Cambodia. I guess they think it unnecessary since it is so hot outside!
33 Out of all the leaders, Joshua who would not depart from the Presence of the Lord is the one that God used to take the Israelites into the Promised Land. This sure speaks to me that staying in the Presence of God brings much reward. But players don’t make it. It has to be my true heart of my love for my Abba that motivates me to stay in His Presence. It is the Lord’s going with us that makes us distinct from all other religions. Lord, thank You that You know me by name. Lord, please show me Your glory.
6 The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, 7 keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”
How awesome this must have been for Moses!
No one is to appear before the Lord empty handed. I pray Lord for those who do not give You, Your tithes and offerings. I pray they will get this and know that not to give of what You have given us is not to be thankful. Forgive Lord and show them this truth so they can repent and be blessed. Getting in the Presence of our God brings light to us and those around us should see Him in us.
Life is short but this is a good thing because of the evils in the world. One day we will be graced to live in our heavenly home.
I have been quoting some of these scriptures quite a bit on this trip because of the mosquitos and no place to hang our netting. Thank You Lord for Your Word protecting us from ALL sickness and disease! The key Lord is to trust You and You alone.
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
1 Corinthians 8
Bottom line is that if I truly love others I won’t intentionally do anything that would make them stumble.
Meditate & Apply: Keep in the Presence of the Lord. Show me Your Glory, Lord. Lord, You are “merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness”! When I get to the next world, there will be no more evil. How awesome! Thank You Lord that NO pestilence shall come near us or harm us!
All I can say is wow, sounds like quite an experience. Amen to no pestilence coming near or harming you!
It has to be my true heart of my love for my Abba that motivates me to stay in His Presence. Such truth in this...thanks again for sharing...Iâm surprised you didnât take Tp with you...I would want to draw the line there as well....
