April 3
…looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2 ESV

Numbers 17-18

17 The Lord doesn’t fool around when He wants to make a point.  It is straightforward in the sight of all.

18 God’s callings are His calling and anointings and not given by man.  There was offerings (tithes) for the Levitical Priest (the offerings to the Lord) and other offerings to care for the Levite “Ministry of Helps” and offerings to care for the upkeep of the tabernacle, etc.  It is so obvious that God is our Provision because it’s not like these people “worked” 40 hours a week for a paycheck!  We do tithe a tithe as a church and have as long as we have been the pastors.  God expects the best and should receive ONLY the BEST!

Proverbs 13
Some of my favorites:
3 Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
4 The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.
11 Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.
13 Whoever despises the word brings destruction on himself, but he who reveres the commandment will be rewarded.
20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children but the sinner's wealth is laid up for the righteous.
24 Whoever spares the rod hates his son but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.

2 Corinthians 12
Boasting in the Lord and of the Lord is what is worth it for anyone to say and hear.  One of the things I ask the Lord regularly is to keep pride away from me and PJ.  I know how disastrous it is and as David so eloquently let us know in Psalms is that I would truly rather be a gatekeeper in the House of the Lord than to lose Him from hanging out with worldly ways and lose my relationship with Him!  So many extremely anointed ministers have fallen because of pride (not that I’m calling us that) and I never want to go there, ever!  It is so important to rightly divide the Word of Truth!
I get Paul in that I would much rather confront people with encouragement than correction, though at times correction is needed.

Meditate & Apply: Give God and those who work for the Lord what is due (and with joy).  I am grateful that as I follow the Holy Spirit I have complete provision and more to give to every good work!  I think I need to visit Proverbs more often for the great wisdom this book holds for me.

God is good! Thank you for the breakdown of Numbers. That was so simple!

Truly, pride is a killer. It could start off as a tiny seed, but produce thorny bushes. Uproot them all, Lord! I would prefer to be that oak tree growing by the river of living water, staying healthy in times of famine. God blesses us to be a blessing!

I concur every time I read Proverbs I think I should do this more often. We have been given so much in Jesus Christ.

I like the new colors and ease of reading the blog now!

Truly, truly, truly, I would truly rather be a gatekeeper in the House of the Lord than to lose Him from hanging out with worldly ways and lose my relationship with Him! Thanks for having so much integrity Pastors!
