We had a great women’s meeting with Gail Buse today! Gail, you are an anointed vessel of God. Thank you for your obedience.
By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. 1 John 3:16 ESV
I cannot bless what God has cursed and I cannot curse what God has blessed. Don’t keep asking the Lord the same thing over and over again when He says “no” or even “yes” for that matter. I truly enjoy this story. If God can open the mouth of a donkey, He can surely open the mouth of anyone (He also had the serpent talking back in the very early day). Balaam’s way was reckless to the Lord and this is a great indicator not to be reckless before Him! I remember people speaking of God’s “permissive” will and I don’t agree. God knows exactly what He wants and though by Him I have free will and He won’t stop me from reckless choices, not being in His perfect will is disobedience.
18God is not man, that he should lie,
or a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it?
Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
The fear of the Lord is the wisest choice in life. Thank You Lord for establishing my steps, leading me by Your Spirit. Why would I not want this? God’s wisdom and understanding cannot even be measured against gold and silver for metal is nothing compared to the mind and will of the Lord. Pride stinks and humility is a sweet fragrance before the Lord.
20Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good,
and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.
31 Gray hair is a crown of glory;
it is gained in a righteous life.
Lord, help us to rule our spirits so we can take our “city” for You!
My God freed me from slavery and I never want to go back to an unregenerated life. My death to self and living for my Lord keeps me completely free! I am not to just remember the poor but do something about it. It seems to me that Peter and the boys still had some fear working in them. I’m not pointing this out for any other reason than they were just as human and you and I when we listen to the natural man and not the spiritual man.
19 For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
Meditate & Apply: I cannot bless what God has cursed and I cannot curse what God has blessed. One aspect of wisdom is refraining from impatience. The Lord’s “yes” means “yes” and His “no” means “no” and nothing in-between. I sure don’t want to be found living reckless before my God. Meditate the Word and fear the Lord at all times and I won’t be giving any unnecessary thought to the things of this world. Thank You Lord for giving me gray hair! Ruling my spirit gives me opportunity to win souls. Living free in the Lord is the only way to spend my time on this earth. I am crucified with Messiah! He lives in me! Today’s reading sure lines up with Gail’s message.
Permissive will - oh, I saw this, even in the movie, "Unplanned." God is good. People suffer for the choices they make and they all want to blame God.
Yes! "Rule our spirit!" Influence others with the Spirit of the Living God!
True. Salvation is still a process. The revelation of God's word is so powerful!
Thank you, Pastor Gail for sharing with us powerful truths and so that we could take a stand at the women's conference! Amen!
Yes, such a great message of truth!
