April 28
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.  Philippians 2:5-8 ESV
Deuteronomy 15

When we live God’s way there is no such thing as poor.  We become the blessing to help others.
5 if only you will strictly obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all this commandment that I command you today. 6 For the Lord your God will bless you, as he promised you, and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow, and you shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over you.
This was once our nation and now our national debt is completely out of control.  We need revival in our land, Lord!
We are told not to give grudgingly in this chapter and it is repeated in 2 Corinthians 9:7.
Ecclesiastes 7
Life is full of choices because of the free will our Lord gives each of us.  I can use this free will for His glory or not.  I choose God and life not just to live in eternal life with Him but because it is so much more pleasant and satisfying to live a life doing things the way He has designed for righteousness.
1 Thessalonians 4
Holy living pleases God.  It is difficult being around those who are out of control.  This is a nice way of saying, “Mind your own business” in this chapter.  Whether currently dead or alive, those who live for the Lord will be with Him forever.
Meditate & Apply: You can tell the state of a Nation by how much poverty it has and how much debt it has.  This is true for individual lives also.  Living God’s way allows me to be a blessing to others. God loves when we give cheerfully and it is easy to do so when we know the Lord and walk in His ways for He blesses us so abundantly.  Living for God is never burdensome.  Who truly wants to be out of control anyway?

Blessings follow obedience. Order and stability brings peace, the kind of peace Jesus gives, not as the world.
