I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.  1 Corinthians 1:10 ESV
Joshua 7

It only took the sin of two to cause the death of 36…idolatry absolutely must be destroyed in the Camp of God!  Joshua also didn’t seek God on whether to go up and fight or not, in this situation.  If he had, the Lord would have told him about the sin in the camp and the 36 would not have died.  Leadership is a huge responsibility and not just a title or position.  Achor means trouble.  People cannot trouble God and get away with it forever.
Isaiah 11
This is prophetic regarding the Millennial Reign of our Lord.  This is also a promise to me that one day I will be brought home to Israel during that time if it doesn’t happen before this.
Hebrews 5
God does the calling and appointing.  Learning obedience isn’t a bowl of ice cream with a cherry on top.  It usually comes through a suffering of discipline.  Jesus accomplished this by the discipline of His flesh not to sin.  He suffered by taking all our sin and infirmity upon Him though He never sinned and was never sick.  Discipline readies me to do what God wants me to do when He wants me to do it without waiver because my flesh is not in control but instead, I am led by the Spirit.  His grace is on me to do this or I couldn’t.  The obedience of Messiah gave me eternal life.  Sin affects many yet obedience affects even more!  The ability to distinguish good from evil only comes with maturity and maturity only comes with discipline.
Meditate & Apply: Sin harms many.  Eventually, I will live in Israel and the timing is completely up to God.  I am to be led by the Spirit and not the flesh and of course apart from the Lord, I can do nothing.  With the Lord I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.  Discernment of good and evil is a spiritual gift, yet it is only placed on those who serve the Lord maturely.

The ability to distinguish good from evil only comes with maturity and maturity only comes with discipline - Yes, something to continually strive for! Discipline isn't often pleasurable but yields the best fruit. We learn the outcome is worth the effort and it's not so hard.

Since being part of Kona Faith Center CHURCH and maturing through the teaching and reading of the Word, I notice that sin is more painful to me, both in myself and noticing it in others. Thank you for this, Lord. Help me to remain faithful!

We do become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit and the more we love Him, the more we should be moved to hate sin. Great point Maurine!
