June 16
As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. Psalm 103:13 ESV

Judges 17-18

All I can really think to write concerning these chapters is written in the sixth verse of chapter 17: “Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.”

Isaiah 40
The prophecy for John the Baptist is given here.

8 The grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God will stand forever.

Another prophecy is given here concerning our Lord Yeshua and the Holy Spirit.

31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.

I enjoy the prophetic and promises in this chapter.  Our God is so good to us.

Luke 18
Lord, I certainly pray that You will find much faith on this earth when You return.  Help each of us to be like the widow who demanded justice until she received it knowing You are the Just God and we also will receive.  Our God is always about us being humble.  When we get that all good is from Him and that we can do nothing apart from Him, we understand this.  It is sad to think that wealth can so easily keep people from the Lord but when they act like the guy who went before the Lord bragging, it is no wonder.  Humility is what brings the true riches.  Once again, the Lord prepares His disciples for His approaching death but they couldn’t understand it.

Meditate & Apply: Only do what is right in God’s sight.  God’s Word stands forever.  Be humble.  The Lord never has a problem when we persist in faith until we get what we need.  In fact it pleases Him.  Sometimes we hear the Word and don’t get it right away, but we will.

This is so inspiring and wonderful to remember daily. He is our strength and gives us all we need to do what he's called each to do.

I agree, I don't want to do anything to cause another to stumble, we are not always aware of where everyone is in their walk and so we need to be circumspect in our examples. I don't think alcohol speaks well of Christians from a worldly point of view either, not appearing to be set apart or different at all when we do those things.

Thank you Lord that I can persist you in faith, anywhere, anytime,any place. Thank you Lord for helping us to be humble in those times we are about to go in a different direction...we lean on you Lord.

Thank you, Lord, that your timing is perfect! I will keep knocking and asking until all my family is part of your kingdom, not out of doubt that you might not do it, but because knowing you WILL do it builds up my faith!
