I am looking forward to seeing you all this morning! There is no place like home! See you at 8:30 for prayer.
DV: And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one. Zechariah 14:9 ESV
1 Samuel 11-12
It is good to be reminded regularly of all the good the Lord has done for me. There is always the “if” in relationship with the Lord. If I truly walk with Him all is well. My God is merciful and His mercies are new every morning, lasting throughout eternity (Lamentations 3:23, Psalm 136:1). I get to choose everyday if I will serve the Lord or not. I am grateful for free will and that the Lord does not make me to do things but gives me the choice. I don’t want anyone to love me because they must or that is not love at all. I am glad I can choose to love no matter how someone else treats me for God has chosen to love me even when I was in all the bondage of sin.
It is always the will of my Abba that I choose to come to Him. He waits for me with blessings so far greater than what this world has
6 “Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near;
7 let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Thank You that You have abundantly pardoned me with Your compassion and love!
The thoughts of people compared to the thoughts of God are so minuscule! Yet the Scripture is very clear that when we walk with our God, we have the mind of Messiah (1 Corinthians 2:16)! The Word of God ALWAYS accomplishes what He sets it out to accomplish. We reap after that which we sow. How wonderful is it to have the joy of the Lord and His great peace in my life? Too wonderful for words and I am so glad I have this!
Saul (Paul) is introduced in this chapter as a great persecutor of the church. Here missions work begins with Philip going into Samaria to share the Gospel. Persecution caused the Believers to scatter and wherever they landed, the Word was preached. What the enemy meant for harm against the people, God meant for good and as always, caused increase into the Kingdom of God! Upon receiving the Lord, it is vital to receive the Holy Spirit baptism for He is the power of God who abides within us and necessary to accomplish the work of the Lord through us. Anyone who really seeks the Lord will find Him. I think about how the Lord sent me my spiritual mom, Gail, when I began to seek for Him in 1974. He has never left me and waited patiently for me to return when I got full of myself and chose to walk on my own for three miserable years! I know the love of my God and have been on all sides of salvation and there is NOTHING more satisfying than having laid down my life to have the Son of God live in me and through me (Galatians 2:20)!
Meditate & Apply: I can love as the Lord loves me for He has loved me so very much. One of His greatest gifts is His mercy! My God is so very compassionate and pardons all who choose Him. Sowing and reaping is how things work in Kingdom of God living. I must evaluate what I sow each day so I don’t reap things that are unpleasant. If I am sowing junk, I must repent and immediately change that attitude. There is nothing is this world that can stand up to the peace and joy my Lord so freely gives me. God means good for my life so I don’t need to “get my knickers in a twist” when life seems unfavorable. He always takes care of it and I have lived long enough to know this from my life experience. Life is so much better with my God for He is the answer to every question and the solution to every problem.
OHA’s, we have been asked to teach at a Bible School in Kenya for a week next year. Please pray with us if this is the Will of our Lord.
There is nothing is this world that can stand up to the peace and joy my Lord so freely gives me. Man..this is so true. No monies in the world can provide this blessing from the Lord.
Thank God for daily new mercies! I should choose peace each day, and make decisions accordingly. I need to sow what I want to reap.
How exciting! Thank you, Lord, that this door to Kenya has opened, and we ask that you make it clear to Pastors if they are to walk through it.
