Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 14:34 ESV
1 Samuel 15

The Word of the Lord is what will judge everything in the end.  Saul was full of himself wanting to do things his way and not the way of the Lord.   He built a statue of himself and justified within himself his disobedience.  King Saul was more concerned for the voice of the people over the voice of the Lord.  Good lesson here.  We must be in understanding of the translation here.  God didn’t make a mistake in appointing Saul king as He knows everything.  He knew what this would do to Israel, His love, though it had to be because once again He gives us free will and He certainly knew what was to come.
Isaiah 59
This chapter starts in with great explanation of what happened with king Saul and all who choose life without the Lord, doing it their own way.  BUT GOD:
Isaiah 59:20-21 (ESV)
59:20  “And a Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression,” declares the LORD. 21  “And as for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the LORD: “My Spirit that is upon you, and my words that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your offspring, or out of the mouth of your children’s offspring,” says the LORD, “from this time forth and forevermore.”

Thank You Father God for sending Lord Yeshua and the Holy Spirit to us and for us, to redeem us from all of the bondages we put ourselves in.  Tomorrow may be Independence Day for the USA but my true independence came when I chose to have a relationship with You and was freed from all guilt, shame and sin!  Thank You that this if for our children forevermore!
Acts 11
Who am I to stand in God’s way?  I am no one to stand in God’s way, ever!  Holy Spirit, please never allow me to think I am all that (and a bag of chips, as they say)!  Salvation and the gift of the Holy Spirit is for ALL who trust in the Lord and live for Him.  I like the way Barnabas put it:  23 … and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose… I always think it wise to anticipate the need and when the prophecy came forth about the famine, this is what the Believers did so no one would be without.  The Spirit of God lets us know what is to come as we walk with Him.
Meditate & Apply: As I love God more than people (yet I am commanded to love people as the Lord loves me), I will stay on the right path.  There is certainly room for both since these are the two great commandments from God.  I declare that God’s Word will be spoken by me, my children and all who God has given me forevermore!  I have the greatest of independence for it is the Lord Himself who gave it to me!  Let me remain faithful and steadfast to You Lord and carry forth the plans and purpose You have so generously given me.  Thank You for the gifts of the Spirit including Prophecy that let’s me know what is to come.

Beautifully put...but my true independence came when I chose to have a relationship with You and was freed from all guilt, shame and sin! Oh hallelujah, agreed.

Ditto to what Beanie said. I love - ' I always think it wise to anticipate the need', yes I agree. Happy 4th. Thank You Lord for the freedom to worship you openly in our country!
