But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4 ESV

1 Samuel 25

This story to me is a like and type of what is to come for those who love the Lord.  Nabal represents the evilness of the world.  (His name means fool.)   David (His name means beloved.)  represents the Lord.  In the end we will be removed from this world to enter eternity, where there is no more sin, thus no more evil, with the Lord where He is the bridegroom and His believers are His bride.

Jeremiah 2
Those of us who have open eyes to see the truth about God and His goodness and how much He has blessed us on this earth stay in His blessing.  Unfortunately many are not thankful and appreciate of all the things He does to make provision for us.  Rebellion transpires from this though His ways are always good for us because of His great love for us.  I think about all the rain we have been having because the Lord set it up so this is rainy season to cool the summer days and provide water for the earth (food).  He has set the seasons in motion as everything else that supplies on our behalf.

Acts 20
I always enjoy reading how the young lad passed out and died and Paul by the power of the Holy Spirit, raised him up.  I must admit that I have been at some conferences where the speaker, though the word good, went on for a very long time and I became sleepy!  I would hope that they would trust God enough to raise me from the dead if I died!  The gospel message really is simple: repent from sin which means turn away from it and keep turned away, know that Yeshua is the Messiah and turn to Him and choose to live this life in Him and receive all the good blessings, God has and desires to give to His created children.  The Lord Yeshua often told His disciples to stay on the alert and keep away from deception and Paul is doing the same here for there are evil spiritual forces trying to remove us from the protection of the Lord.

Meditate & Apply: I must work out my own salvation daily (Philippians 2:12).  Doing so brings a right heart to me and my life is filled with the Blessing of God.

Thanks for the comment on the representations in the story of Nabal, wow that makes sense. Yes, we should be alert and holding onto Jesus only!
