August 3
“Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it—the Lord is his name: Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.  Jeremiah 33:2-3 ESV

2 Samuel 20-21
20 It’s truly amazing how quickly someone will follow an evil person.  The Lord used a wise woman to stop the war.  I really appreciate that throughout scripture, the women are written about.  Of course both good and evil just like the men!

21 Vows are serious business to the Lord.  There are seasons for all we do in our lives and sometimes we need to not do things we did in the past (even if they were God good things back then).  This is not a bad thing; it is just the next season.  It seems the wars never stopped for too long of a period of time but look at our own nation  first fighting the English then the with Civil War, World War I, Korean War, World War II, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan…  There will be peace in our future!

Jeremiah 24
Father God knows best!  How many chapters have we read just in this book about the warnings to leave Israel during these days and then all would be well with the people if they did?  Quite the opposite if they didn’t.  I am so grateful my grandparents came to America in 1912, leaving behind the terrible persecution in Russia.  I am glad that God directed them here instead of Europe where they would have faced WWII and been killed.  God knows when and where for every situation and nothing is by accident in Him!

1 John 1
Wow, what an amazing joy it must have been to literally walk with our Lord, day in and day out!  I have joy knowing Him now, though I have not “seen” Him (yet)!  Living in Truth brings God’s unfading Light into our lives.  I found it interesting that all those I have read that have died and returned to earth start with talking about the great Light they see…

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Meditate & Apply: Discern between truth and lies.  Discern between good and evil.  Pray and obey!  Make a vow?  Keep the vow!  Those that have been divorced in the past, repent even if it wasn’t your fault!  God is a very forgiving Father filled with mercy and love.  I truly repented and He forgave me!  We know that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).  But we must also KNOW that we are forgiven completely after true repentance (remorse and don’t want to do that sin again).

True. It is so important to have God's wisdom and discernment to deal right with others and know that we are with God and not against Him. I guess it is like Pastor Jason said - don't give in to temptation and change our destiny. Forgive and receive forgiveness. Be who we already are.

Thank you Father for lighting our way and helping keep us on the right path. Yes, discernment necessary in choosing with whom we associate.
