For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation. Psalm 149:4
1 Kings 2
Succeeding in this life comes with walking in the way of the Lord. Solomon had the advantage of a firmly established kingdom when he took office. As pastors, PJ and I must have the church firmly established for the next pastors when it is time for us to move on. I am honestly surprised that Bathsheba agreed to make a request on behalf of Adonijah. Lord, I don’t want to leave Your refuge that keeps me safe!
Since God created humankind, He has always wanted increase in our lives (Genesis 1:26-28). Praying for where the Lord has placed us is vital. I am glad for our intercessory prayer times together as we include our community, island, state, nation and nations. (See 1 Timothy 2:2.)
11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.’
This is such a great section of scripture! The Lord always has good plans for me! The Lord’s promises are yes and amen! As we read we will see how this comes to pass!
God witnesses EVERYTHING (not yelling, stressing the point)!
2 John-3 John
Once again, John reiterates that we must love! It is an action, not a feeling!
2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.
I pray this for you, my friends!
4 I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.
This is so true!
Meditate & Apply: Daily, I must asses if I am walking in the way of the Lord and when the Holy Spirit asks me to make a change, I must, with His help. I am so glad one of His descriptive names is “The Helper”. We must leave Kona Faith Center firmly established when the Lord moves new ministers in our place. I want to stay in the Lord for He is my “City of Refuge”. My God has all good plans for me! We can prosper and be in good health by God’s hand! There is no greater joy in my life then when my loved ones walk in the Lord’s truth!
Agreed..I never want to leave the city of refuge either. For He is my covert in a storm, my safe dwelling space. Only in Him do I feel secure.
awesome insight Pastor, thank you. Love an action, not a feeling.... The Holy Spirit is indeed such a huge help.
