August 18
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8 ESV)

1 Kings 13

I must obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29, Genesis 8:21, Jeremiah 17:9…).  This is why the Lord tells us to get a “witness” of two or three (Deuteronomy 17:6, 2 Corinthians 13:1…)  When I am utterly convinced of what the Lord tells me, I won’t follow evil advice from humans.

Jeremiah 39
Going along with the chapter above in Kings and its theme, when I trust what the Lord tells me, I am well taken care of no matter the circumstances.

Mark 10
I am grateful for forgiveness from divorce (John 4 and the Samaritan woman).  Our Lord loves the children.  PJ always says we have the cutest children in the world at Kona Faith Center and that is truly how one feels when the children are so very loved!  The problem the rich young ruler faced is the same for many though the circumstances differ.  He wouldn’t commit to giving up all for the Lord.  We are either all in or not truly in at all.  What could possibly be greater on this earth than having a personal relationship with my Creator?

27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”

Being all in and following the Lord brings many blessings yet it also brings persecution for our faith.
43 But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Meditate & Apply: Make sure that I KNOW (witness of 2 or 3) what the Lord is telling me and do what He says.  As I trust the Lord, He takes care of me.  I am glad that forgiveness extends to all who repent and turn away from sin and turn to the Lord.  I have to be all in and stay all in to truly be in a relationship with my Lord.  Persecution for my faith may come but, in the end, I get the most wonderful thing of all – eternal life with my Creator!   Greatness comes from servanthood, yes laying down my life for others (and without grumbling).

When I am utterly convinced of what the Lord tells me, I won’t follow evil advice from humans...and I am taken cared of no matter the circumstances - Amen!

Thank You, Lord, for repentance to have fresh beginnings of service to you - WITHOUT GRUMBLING! ALL IN!
