Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 ESV
2 Chronicles 10-11
Unlike David who trained Solomon and prepared for his reign as king, it is not written that Solomon, the wisest man ever created did this with his son, the new reigning king. Rehoboam chose listening to his friends over the older wise men. This is a huge problem in our society and look what’s happening! God is never ignorant about what is going on and uses each situation for it to turn to His purposes. There will always be a people group that walks in the way of God!
This is a good reminder for me to examine myself each day to make sure I haven’t chosen anything unpleasing to the Lord causing me to sin, so I can make it right with my God.
God’s mystery is Messiah and He abides within me!
6 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
There is a major difference between the wisdom of the Lord that leads to blessing and life and the wisdom of this world that leads to cursing and death.
13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.
This is something to shout joyfully about! Rituals never stop the indulgence of the flesh, only walking with the Lord frees us!
Application: I don’t ever want to lose position in being a person that walks with my God for He is beyond good to me! Examining myself daily is a great way to keep track of this. I can be so thankful at all times because the Lord Himself has established me in the faith! I am forgiven because of the great price my Lord paid on my behalf and on top of this, He has given me authority over every demonic action and I must use it daily!
I wrote about those verses in Colossians in my OHA--love them! My NIV says: 14) He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15) And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
Jesus paid it ALL; all to Him I owe!!
Yes and amen!
Rituals never stop the indulgence of the flesh, only walking with the Lord frees us! - Amen!
YES! Thankful for the freedom found in Jesus Christ. Purpose to stay in His presence.
No better place to be than in His Presence!
