October 31
Jesus is Lord of Every Day!

Please pray for the safety of our children!
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.  1 Peter 5:8-9 ESV
2 Chronicles 29

Hezekiah went to work on the Lord’s Temple in the first year of his reign.  You did good, Hezekiah!  As the Lord chose the people of Hezekiah’s time, He has chosen us, “For such a time as this”!  I am so grateful that President Trump is fighting on behalf of religious freedom to continue in our nation!  Thank you Lord that YOU have placed him “for such a time as this”!
Daniel 9
Though Daniel himself was innocent, he took responsibility for his nation by repenting and praying, seeking the Lord for the restoration of their homeland as Jeremiah had prophesied.  I am responsible – I am my brother’s keeper for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)!
18 “O my God, incline your ear and hear. Open your eyes and see our desolations, and the city that is called by your name. For we do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy. 19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive. O Lord, pay attention and act. Delay not, for your own sake, O my God, because your city and your people are called by your name.”
At the beginning of our prayers, God responds!  Prophecy is so interesting in that we can be praying about one specific time yet the Lord tells us about what is to happen at another.  Gabriel was talking about the end of days.
1 Timothy 2
1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Ladies don’t take these verses out of context but read the Scripture as a whole entity.  This does not mean women cannot teach or preach.  This refers to the cultural practices and the oppression of women during Roman and Greek history.  Remember that Rome occupied Israel during the time of the Lord.  It doesn’t mean you can’t wear braids or makeup.  It means Jesus first.  A good book that goes into detail on this is called, “Why Not Women?: A Fresh Look at Scripture on Women in Missions, Ministry, and Leadership by Loren Cunningham, David Joel Hamilton.”  Yes, Loren Cunningham who started YWAM in Kona and still lives here.  It is available on Kindle or in book form.  I just reordered it because I loaned my copy and don’t know to who as it was a long time ago and this is no problem at all!  I decided a long time ago that when I loan a book, I am giving that book.
Apply Today: Continue to pray for our First Amendment Rights that were given.  This is the very reason we became our own nation – to be free to worship God as we choose!  Why has this been forgotten so quickly, Lord?  Continue to pray and repent for our nation!  Our Lord not only hears and answers our prayers but He does so immediately though this doesn’t mean the particular answer happens immediately as God’s timing is always perfect.  Well, have to get ready for prayer at 1030 this morning for missions!  Please keep the missions team in prayer as they are in Thailand.  Gail texted me and said they are all there, safe and sound.

Appreciated your comments on women. Know it is cultural and there were even women in that time that were preachers/teachers.

God desires ALL to be saved, so we should be praying extra hard for those in government!

Yes, Praying for our nation, and all governmental officials, especially President Trump. Bless him Lord for standing up for 1st amendment rights. Thank you Lord we can stand in the gap like Daniel for our nation, and thank You Lord that you always hear our prayers.

Thank you for the cultural information to provide the context of the time. In school that used to be a standard, look at how cultural context of the time affected the interpretation of the information. Makes sense to me!

Amen! Thank You, Lord for watching over the mission;'s team in Thailand! You are doing good work there!
