Shabbat Shalom!

Enter through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.  Matthew 7:13-14 CSB

Judges 6

Disobedience to the Lord brings poverty.  Again, God’s mercy is so great, it overtakes people when they cry out to Him.  I know there is a line that can’t be crossed as with the Israelites when they died in the wilderness and yet, even with that, He saved those who could go into the Promised Land.  There are always those who still know the Lord and His ways even in the midst of a corrupt society and God seeks them out.  Gideon checked things out to make sure He was hearing from the Lord.  Lord, there are a few things that I need to hear from You about so thank You for showing me Your will.  When the Lord sends me out, His Spirit “envelopes” me so I go in His strength and power.  After Gideon making sure He heard from the Lord, there would be no excuse for him not to respond in obedience.  It is one thing to make sure it is God but the point is to be obedient to the Lord’s command.  Otherwise it is like being a hearer of the Word and not a doer of the Word (James 1:22).

Isaiah 33

Lord, be gracious to us! We wait for you.  Be our strength every morning and our salvation in time of trouble.

Only You Lord are truly Just and Righteous yet You have made us righteousness by and through the Lord Yeshua (2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 3:22).  I will again see Jerusalem!

22 For the Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our King.  He will save us.

24 and none there will say, “I am sick.”  The people who dwell there will be forgiven their iniquity.

Luke 11

If I should not know what to pray, I can pray that God be honored as holy, that His Kingdom come, that He be my provision, that He forgive me from all sin, that I not be led into temptation and that I forgive the sin of others.

I can be shamelessly bold before You in asking for what I need.  When I ask, You give me what I ask for, when I seek from You, You give me what I need, when I knock on Heaven’s door, You open it for me where everything I would ever need is located.  Thank You Father that I asked You for the Holy Spirit and You gave Him to me!

Anyone walking back into sin and away from the Lord should know that things will get worse and never better.  On the other hand, being a doer for the Word brings blessing in all its fullness!  Even a small amount of darkness in the soul of a person clouds the light enough that the entire Truth of God cannot be seen.  The Lord is always concerned with caring for the poor.  The Lord hates religious hypocrisy!

Meditation & Application:  Summed up today is always making sure I hear from God on what to do and then do it.  The Lord will always show me His ways when I ask.  There is always prayer that can be offered.  Obedience always brings blessing and disobedience removes it.  There are always ways to help the poor. God’s mercy is so very marvelous and I am so familiar with it!
