Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.  Matthew 24:35 CSB

1 Samuel 18

People without the Lord fear those whom the Lord is with.  This was true with Saul and David and it still hold true today.  Because God is with me, no one can truly be against me though they may try.  God with me will always bring success and victory!

Isaiah 62

The Lord delights in Israel so those who don’t have risen up against the Lord.  There are actually churches in the USA that have risen up against God in this manner.  As watchmen for the Lord, we must not give Him rest when it comes to our prayers for our community, state and nation.  Jerusalem will be God’s praise on the earth.  All Israel will be saved and what a magnificent time this will be!

…and on that day you will say: “Give thanks to the Lord; proclaim his name! Make his works known among the peoples. Declare that his name is exalted.  Isaiah 12:4 CSB

1 Samuel 17

First of all of importance in my sight in this historic event is that David left someone to tend the sheep.  He didn’t neglect the care of them.  One of the most important messages from David’s conversation with Saul was that God gave David victory in private battle so David had no qualms about defying Goliath.  Private wins lead to public victories.  This our absolute best weapon against the enemy:

45 David said to the Philistine: “You come against me with a sword, spear, and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord of Armies, the God of the ranks of Israel—you have defied him.

David knew God was with him and had no fear.  He ran right into the battle line which is what we should do knowing if God be for us, who can be against us?

This is not a kid’s story.  This is one of the best Biblical examples of complete trust in God and how it brings complete victory!  Often times we think the private battles we trust God for are minor but they are not in God’s sight.  The victory in our personal battles teach us trust in the Lord and then there is no stopping us in the public battles!

Isaiah 61

The Shepherd of my soul came and brought me good news, took me out of poverty, healed my heart, gave me liberty and real freedom, showed me God’s favor upon me and His vengeance against those who rise against me, comforted me when I was in mourning, gave me a crown of beauty and festive oil instead of ashes and splendid clothes instead of despair.  On top of this He calls me His tree of righteousness planted by the Lord to glorify Him!  And the list goes on and on.  Of course the key players here are the Lord Yeshua and Israel, yet I am in on it because of what the Lord has done for me!  You, oh Lord love justice and have blessed Your people in every nation You have sent them to, yes with persecutions (Mark 10:29-30) also.

10 I rejoice greatly in the Lord, I exult in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation and wrapped me in a robe of righteousness, as a groom wears a turban and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord— the people he has chosen to be his own possession!  Psalm 33:12 CSB

Amen!  We have much to be thankful to God for allowing us to live in this Nation and State!  God bless America!  Happy 242 Years USA!

1 Samuel 16

7b Humans do not see what the Lord sees, for humans see what is visible, but the Lord sees the heart.”

Isaiah 60

Thank You Lord that Your Glory appears and shines upon us!  You are the Light of the world!  You show us your favor and mercy.  I know that You are my Lord, Redeemer and Savior and one day soon ALL Israel will be saved!  You, Zion will be a place Of Praise unto our God and His Peace will reign.  The timing of the Lord is perfect and when it is time, He quickly does it!

22b I am the Lord; I will accomplish it quickly in its time.

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.  Proverbs 14:34

1 Samuel 15

The bottom line with King Saul was his independent spirit that he valued over obedience to the Lord.  This remains an issue in the Body of Messiah today.  You can’t serve the Lord wholeheartedly with an independent spirit and the pride in it that leads to ruin.  Really, a monument to self?

22 Then Samuel said: Does the Lord take pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord?  Look: to obey is better than sacrifice, to pay attention is better than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and defiance is like wickedness and idolatry.  Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.

There is absolutely nothing that could happen to me worse than being rejected by my God!  There is a place of not returning to the place the Lord sets His people in, because of rebellion.  How foolish to fear man instead of God yet is this not a common issue?

29 Furthermore, the Eternal One of Israel does not lie or change his mind, for he is not man who changes his mind.

Anyone who thinks they can make up their own rules when it comes to God lives a life of foolishness, fooling only themselves.  I can really go for it here, but I think it best for me to stop!

Don’t think God made a mistake for He never makes a mistake.  His plan was to get David onto the throne but because of the rebellion of the people who wanted a king, He gave them a king with warning of what would happen to them under his reign because it was a rejection of God Himself.  (Go back and read the first few chapters as necessary to understand this.)

Isaiah 59

Sin is the separator between humankind and God.  Faith in Lord Yeshua reconciles us to God because faith in the Lord can only come through repentance and remorse of sin.  On the other hand, as I walk in the peace of the Lord, justly on His straight path, allowing Truth (the Lord) to lead me, His hand is strong to save me and His ear is close to hear me.  My God looks for those of us who will intercede on behalf of those turned away from Him.  This is the promise to us who fear the Lord in reality:

20 “The Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those in Jacob who turn from transgression.”  This is the Lord’s declaration.  21 “As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord: “My Spirit who is on you, and my words that I have put in your mouth, will not depart from your mouth, or from the mouths of your children, or from the mouths of your children’s children, from now on and forever,” says the Lord.

Oh Hallelujah Lord Yeshua, return for us oh Lord, return!

The heart is more deceitful than anything else, and incurable—who can understand it? I, the Lord, examine the mind, I test the heart to give to each according to his way, according to what his actions deserve.  Jeremiah 17:9-10 CSB

1 Samuel 14

6b: Nothing can keep the Lord from saving, whether by many or by few.

Rash vows are beyond foolishness.

Isaiah 58

The fast God chooses for us is to deny selfishness and care for others.  I think about today (literally) in Israel how the Israelis are caring for the Syrians who are escaping the wrath of their own government and Russia who are trying to kill them.  The Israelis are sending food and clothing and supplies whereas their own government wants them dead.  Lord, what can I do today to deny selfishness and offer myself to help others?
