As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.  Psalm 103:13 CSB

Judges 17-18

One cannot expect good from the Lord when the foundational premise is corrupt!

Whoa Dan!  You never took the land when you were supposed to and then you defy God again with carved images…

Isaiah 40

The glory of the Lord will appear and yes, all humanity will see Him!  Those who have been walking with Him will rejoice!

8 The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God remains forever.”

Is this not a reason to KNOW the Word and spend time in it daily?

25 “To whom will you compare me, or who is my equal?” asks the Holy One.

Because I trust in You my God, I will not become weary, I will not faint but instead You strengthen me and Your mercy keeps me from falling (spiritually and physically)!

The father of a righteous son will rejoice greatly, and one who fathers a wise son will delight in him.  Proverbs 23:24 CSB

And I can surely say amen to today’s Daily Verse!

 Judges 16

This is just like the enemy, nagging day after day and pleading until he can wear someone out, without the armor of God on and without walking in faith and our God given authority!

Things have not changed as there is still battle at Gaza!  There is a line that can be crossed with rebellion, disobedience and sin when God will leave us just like He did Samson.  Yet God was merciful with Samson’s last request and also caused victory against the enemy.

 Isaiah 39

Oh my, Hezekiah!  We are told not to throw pearls before swine and what kind of parent would want their sons to become eunuchs in a foreign country enslaved just so he could have peace?

…but our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.  Philippians 3:20 CSB

Judges 14-15

Samson’s story is definitely one of the most interesting in the Word to me.  The ways of God are always purposeful and intentional whether I understand them or not.  They always produce His intended outcome.  God knew Samson’s temperament and how he would handle the various situations and use this for God’s glory.  I find the dependence on the Lord for the water so very interesting as Samson appeared to be able to do most anything, yet even with our gifting, without God we cannot make it!  Bottom line as always is to not base anything on what I see in the natural but trust God completely and inquire of the Lord so I can understand by the Spirit to my spirit.

Isaiah 38

This is an interesting story again, first the sun going back in the opposite direction on the stairs and second the figs on the skin.  I wonder if we are missing a remedy for diseased skin (figs).  Extended life is not always the best thing to have as we will find out soon about Hezekiah’s life.

I am overwhelmed by the Presence of my God this morning!

If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”  Luke 11:13 CSB

Judges 12-13

The Lord is merciful and will seek out to save the oppressed even if the oppressed have brought the oppression upon themselves.  All of these people God raised up like Samson were “likes and types” of the Lord Yeshua to let the people know a true Deliverer was going to be sent by God but it would not be a sinful man, but a sinless savior!  The Lord’s Name is Beyond Understanding!  I like that Manoah wanted to make sure he would raise Samson correctly for the purposes of God.  Every parent walking with the Lord should desire this!  Not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of the Lord!  There is no greater joy for a parent than their children walking in Truth.  Absolutely nothing compares!  Unfortunately, Samson would disappoint his parents yet God’s intention for using him for deliverance at this time in history did come to pass.

Isaiah 37

In this instance, Hezekiah was wise, seeking wisdom from the Prophet Isaiah.  It is wise to seek godly counsel from those anointed by God.  And even wiser, Hezekiah went before the Lord with his requests.  It is wise to seek the Lord and heed His answer!  Mocking the people of God is mocking God.  It reminds me of when the Lord Yeshua talked about people getting offended with those who love the Lord and that they were really offended with the Lord Himself.

For those who have ears to hear:

32 For a remnant will go out from Jerusalem, and survivors from Mount Zion. The zeal of the Lord of Armies will accomplish this.’

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the expanse proclaims the work of his hands. Day after day they pour out speech; night after night they communicate knowledge.  Psalm 19:1-2 CSB

Judges 10-11

10 Having people of God lead sure makes a positive impact!  Please pray for the upcoming elections!  This is an extremely important one.  If conservatives are the majority in both House and Senate, conservative bills will be passed, righteous judges will be put in place, freedom of religion will be honored, abortion laws will protect more babies, etc.  Pray and research the candidates.  And of course, vote!

11 It is important to know the real history and not revisionist history so when circumstances arise, truth is the foundation and not hearsay or changing, manipulating the facts to get what is wanted under false pretenses.  God was not interested in a human sacrifice other than the Lord Yeshua.  Why would Jephthah vow this?  The Lord would have given him victory with the Ammonites anyway!  Stupid vows are just that.  Oh Lord, keep my mind clear that I don’t speak stupidity over situations and my children.  I must speak what I desire, that they have a great walk with You and nothing else!  Though the commentators say she wasn’t sacrificed but had to remain unmarried, it was still cruel to determine her fate this way.

Isaiah 36

Aha!  Smart people that said not a word in response!  It sure takes a whole lot more maturity and self-control to keep the mouth shut!
